Tour of the Academic Society (AF) Archives, October 5
The student life in Lund dates back to when Lund University was founded in 1666. The AF archive preserves this rich history and presents a large number of historical artefacts from the Academic Society, the student unions, nations and organizations. The tour will include amusing tales about the old student life in Lund and treasures from different student organizations. The tour takes place on October 5 at 16.45 and is free of charge. Start your own business part 3 English: An introduction to Entrepreneurship, October 5
In this seminar we will tell you about the possibilities, and about the conditions that are important when starting up a business in Sweden. You will also get the opportunity to listen and ask questions to other students who has taken their ideas into businesses.
How can I find my business idea? What is a company? Where do I find my customers? Where can I turn for help, when starting up a business in Sweden?

International Cat Exhibition in Lund, October 8-9
Cat lover? 350 cats representing 25 different breeds are presentation on the International Cat exhibition this weekend in Färs och Frosta Sparbank Arena. A guided tour of the exhibition takes place at 11.00 and 13.00. Tickets are 40 SEK.
Guided tour in Lund Cathedral, October 9
Enjoy a great tour and learn all about Lund Cathedral. The tour takes place on October 9 at 13.45 and is free of charge. You register by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Game night, October 10
Try out different board games, card games and strategy games and meet new friends. The game night takes place on October 10, 17-19, in Gamla Kirurgen (where the International Desk is located) and is free of charge. English Comedy Night – October 14 – VG Nation
Comedians from around the world will come to Lund and perform stand-up comedy in English this week. Aussie & American Specials.

Join us on a visit to the famous glass factories in Småland, October 21!
The southern part of Småland is renowned worldwide for its Swedish glass factories. International Desk and Lund University Foreign Friends now give you the opportunity to visit three of them. At all three glass factories you will have the chance to see the beautiful collections and to buy items from the first and second’s selection.

Our programme: After an appr. 3 hours drive through the fairly hilly northern parts of Skåne and the dark pine forests of Southern Småland, we will arrive at the famous Kosta Boda. There will be a guided tour of the factory floor where you will see glass-blowing at close quarters. At Kosta Boda you can also find a big outlet shopping center, Kosta Outlet. At around 12.45 we will depart for Målerås where we will have lunch at 13.00. After lunch we will look at artist Mats Jonasson´s beautiful handcrafted crystal with wildlife animals. Our final stop at 15.15 will be Orrefors a few km southeast of Målerås. There you can visit a very fine museum and a shop.
