Valborg wrap-up

4 May

Quieter, colder Valborg?

The weather did not cooperate all that much, but around 10 000 students and youth apparently still made it to the park in the morning and afternoon of April 30th. Stadsparken generally saw a lot of foot traffic that day, with families and people of all ages taking over for the traditional bonfire at the end of the long day.

Sydsvenskan reports that police had to deal with fights, drunkenness, broken noses and some drug offences, but most people just enjoyed themselves with friends, drinking and dancing away the day.

I was there in the morning, but then it started raining rather heavily. It was fun to celebrate spring under the rain anyway!

By the way, thank you for the newsletter, it’s a wonderful idea!

Hej Nat! Seems lots of people did that, going to the park and then heading inside to warm up. Too bad spring is slow in heating up Lund, let’s hope this changes for the coming weeks and Karneval!! Cheers! 🙂
